The house "La Tortue" lies on the slope at the border of the Lago Maggiore facing the islands of Brissago. It was built at the start of the 19th century and was completely renovated in spring 2001. It consists of two storeys with place for 6 persons.
Groundfloor: open kitchen with ceramic stove, refrigderator, freezer and dish-washer, WC / shower, a living room with fire-place and a couch. Veranda to the garden.
First floor: 3 bedrooms (2 with double beds and 1 with 2 beds). The bedroom to the west has an access to the terrace and view on the lake. The bathroom has a tub which can be used as shower, a cupboard and a sink
To make your stay easier the following things are at your disposal: a washing machine, a TV set with satellite, a stereo set as well as chairs and a table for the garden.
The parking is 100m away.
The village of Scaiano is 5 minutes on foot away from Caviano at the extreme south of the «Gambarogno». Both villages are typical for the «Ticino», with cool lanes and warm inhabitants. In Caviano are a food shop, a post office and a restaurant. The italian border is only a few hundred meters away, the market of Luino (15 minutes by car) is very well known. Excursions are possible in every way (by foot, car, ship, helicopter etc.). The towns of Locarno and Ascona can be reached in 25 minutes by car, the town of Lugano within 40 minutes.
